Welcome to my first blog! Of course, the title of my blog-- "Born In the D" refers to the fact that I was born and raised in Deeeetroit. As most Detroiters know, we now sometimes refer to our city as simply...the "D." I lived in the actual city of Detroit until I was 25. For the past....oh let's use.....25 more years...I have lived in a suburb of Detroit. I still love Detroit and I also love where I live. More about all of that later,
Today, October 9, 2010 is the day of the big Michigan/Michigan State football game and I am cheering for Michigan-- Go Blue!
This is one of the best things about this area.....we have great sports teams (well ok the Lions need improvement). But we are great sports fans. We are great music fans. We especially like Rock!
Also....our weather here can be unpredictable. But today it is gorgeous. It is 74 degrees and sunny. I would say that it is a beautiful fall afternoon but the trees don't even seem to be changing color and it is Oct. 9. It is strange to be driving down the road in your convertible in October in Michigan and see houses decorated for Halloween with green bushes and green (non evergreen) tress in front. As they say. "Pure Michigan."
So...this afternoon..along with thousands of other people in Michigan....be they green and white or blue and gold.....I am enjoying a beautiful warm sunny day watching football on my big screen TV....cheering for MY team....did I mention......GO BLUE!!!!
